Siyarehi Suana trek

         About 31 kilometres from divisional headquarters of Salooni, you can reach amidst dense forests which gives you alluring trails and picturesque picnic spots. Once you leave the main road at stream near Shalai, the trail starts and continues along the stream. Along the way you can find several temporary houses used by the people to stay there for grazing their cattle during rainy season. The dwellers of Salooni valley bring their cattle for greener pastures. The trail continues with green pastures of Ghanotu and Mohi di Kothi. Few kilometres uphill brings you to Kali ka Goth which is plain hill top amidst dense forests and a charismatic camping spot. The trail continues from Choundi’s peak and concludes at Suana another entrancing camping spot. One has to be cautious about the wild fauna though as rarely you can see wild predators there. The place is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts.

VEGETATION:                Western Mixed Coniferous Forests Moist temperate deciduous forests, Kharsu Oak forest, Brich/ Rhododendronn forests and Alpine pastures.     

 

ECO-TOURISM SPOTS:  Mohi di Kothi camping spot, alpine skiing in winters.

 

BEST PERIOD TO VISIT:  July - September, December - March

 

HOW TO REACH:         From Pathankot to Banikhet (73Km) Banikhet to Salooni (67km). Salooni to Siyarehi (30km) Nearest railhead Pathankot (167Km). Nearest Airport: Gaggal Kangra (164Km).
